What are you doing for your surveys? Are people doing a survey before they use the devices and then one at the end? Are you just surveying at the end of the semester (H.S. question, sorry).
I would think that it would be a good idea to do several surveys, creating sample sets throughout the project can give some exceptionally valuable data.
For example we are just really getting started so we have created a survey or poll that is a series of multiple choice questions and a short answer (opinion) that the students fill out after they have used the technology (BT1 and Ipad) for the first time. And also based on the fact that the students have recently used a traditional scanner. Goolge forms was used and allow us to monitor and collect data based on the responses. Simply Awesome.

(guess I could use a shortner....) so....try this

We plan on continuing to use google forms for data collection and create various forms to monitor the project's progress and students skill set development in diagnostics.
What a great idea! We at Mariposa were scratching our heads, trying to think of how to set a baseline for the use of traditional texts vs. e-Texts. This is a great way to do so, so we will definitely be following your lead!
